The ROOLOX collar is symmetrical and accessible from any direction. You won't have to rotate the bar to find the release lever. The locking sleeve takes minimal effort and can be installed and removed effortlessly.

The collar is designed to squeeze the bar tighter when weight is applied. Three urethane rubber grippers swivel against the bar shaft using friction to mechanically multiply the gripping power.

This is one of the most amazing features. If you are doing a workout with multiple reps and dropping the barbell between lifts, the vibration of the bar will actually cause the ROOLOX to cinch closer to the weight plates.
How the ROOLox barbell collar idea got started
Hi, I'm Chris. I found CrossFit in 2014 as a way to get healthy and stay fit. My CrossFit gym was right next door to my cabinet shop. Being a craftsman and an engineer, I naturally gravitated to fun projects around the gym. I built a rock climbing wall, a full height American Ninja Warrior style warped wall, pegboards, racks for weight plates and more. I took an especially keen interest in figuring out a way to prevent smashing shins on wooden plyoboxes. That's when I designed, patented and produced the first ever plywood and foam hybrid box and called it the ROOBOX plyobox. Soon I was setting my sights on those pesky weight collars that pop open, slide away from the weights and generally are annoying to use. My thoughts drifted back to when I was a kid and my first time sticking a finger in a toy finger trap. You know- it's that woven little sleeve that you can easily insert your finger, but find it impossible to remove without assistance! Wouldn't it be great if we had a barbell collar that slid on easily and tightened when weights push against it?! No more fussing or fighting with clamp levers or breaking nails. No more stopping to readjust and re-clamp collars! My CrossFit friends jokingly suggested I call it the ROOLOX collar since I already had the ROOBOX plyobox. I immediately went with it! After a year and a half of designing and playing with prototypes, we finally have the finished product ready for you to purchase. I can honestly say these work better than I could have hoped. They are quick, easy and reliable and are the first collars I reach for when I load my barbell!
